Morning Drawing

Two weeks ago, I decide to spend at least 20 minutes doing figure drawing and get back to painting. Ideally, I will wake up early in the morning and start my day creatively. It has been slow going. Most days, I have been waking up early enough that I can draw in the morning. There were a couple of days that I had to draw in the evening because I did not wake up in time. Because I am unable to afford a model and Jane is not a fan of posing, I am using Croquis Cafe's library of models to practice my figure drawing. The videos are great, but don't compare to an actual model sitting in front of you. I love capturing movement and the figure. We will see where this takes me. Here are a couple of drawings I did. One is a 1-minute drawing and the other is a 2-minute drawing.

February Post

February has been a slow and unproductive month for my photography and art. I was hoping of taking more photographs and working on some paintings, but I have been keeping busy with procrastination instead. I have to get in the habit of carrying my camera or sketchbook. Hopefully, March will be more productive. Stay tuned.....

One More Time

It has been a long while since I have wrote anything on my blog/website. Last year, I completed my Masters in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University. I gave myself about a year before I really began looking for a Librarian position at either an art library or academic library. Unfortunately, ArtCenter College Library is not looking for a replacement for the librarian that recently retired. ArtCenter has been amazing and I get to help with research from time-to-time.

This year, I am planning to add more content to my site and explore my creative spirit. I love movement and capturing single moments in life. I am currently focusing more on photography than on drawing or painting. Most of the work on the site has been from my Paris trip in 2015, but I have some works from 2017 and the first few days of 2018. In the past I have routinely helped my wife by photographing many of the events at her library. Some of those photographs have been featured in Publishers Weekly, and Pasadena Loves YA.

I am hoping to post once a week and see where creativity takes me.

Slow start

Slow and steady is the name of the game. Actually, it is very very slow and steady. I haven't had much of an opportunity to upload new content or post. I was sketching daily for a while, but it has been a couple of weeks since I last actually sketched. Hopefully my posts will become more frequent.

So this happened

I have decided to start a website which will contain my work in photography, drawing, and painting. Most of the current photography on my site is from my trip to Paris with my wife over the summer in 2015. I had never been to Paris and unfortunately it was a short trip. I definitely plan to visit again in the future. Will see how this goes.
